“Why won’t they get hearing aids?”

From the outside it can be challenging to understand why someone with a hearing loss wouldn’t want to address it. It can also be incredibly frustrating to communicate with someone who has a hearing loss but will not acknowledge it. Hearing loss often creeps up on us and it makes it sound like other people are mumbling. So it can be challenging to believe you have a hearing loss in the first place. Even when you do know you are missing things, expensive hearing aids seem to be the only option and not everyone seems to do well with them.
